PostLater.com is proud to announce support for Identi.ca and all other federated microblogging sites that are built using the Laconi.ca microblogging software.
Users of PostLater can now schedule update notices to be posted on these sites at a future date and time of their choosing.
The expansion of the supported sites further enhances the ability to orchestrate and coordinate marketing campaigns, event launches, etc., all from within one interface, namely the PostLater entry scheduling screen.
Support of Laconi.ca sites comes on top of the existing support of FriendFeed.com and a score of different blogging platforms.
PostLater, the premier blog post scheduling service, added the metaWeblog remote blogging API to their service.
With the API, subscribers can now manage their scheduled posts on PostLater.com from the comfort of their favorite desktop blogging client, such as ScribeFire, Windows Live Writer, Ecto, and w.bloggar.
The API also allows custom-developed solutions to use PostLater as a scheduling engine. Developers can integrate their software by making standard metaWeblog API calls to PostLater.
PostLater enables users to schedule blog posts for platforms that don’t support future-dated entries, including Tumblr and FriendFeed.
The service holds scheduled posts in an internal queue, and creates the new post on the blogging platform at the designated time, using its scheduling engine.
This approach not only enables scheduling on platforms that don’t support future-dating, it also circumvent problems with pings to RSS services being sent long before the post is live on the blog.
One of the services that try to keep track of all the interesting new services being launched on a daily basis, KillerStartUps.com, has reviewed and listed PostLater.com on their site.
Many thanks to the good folks over at KillerStartUps!
In an ongoing effort to expand the range of platforms where you can schedule future-dated content to be published, we added FriendFeed, the rapidly growing social site that offers a unique way to discover and discuss information among friends.
You can now schedule FriendFeed “entries” to be published at a future date and time of your choosing.
Welcome to the PostLater blog, the site that will carry news, announcements, and other useful information about PostLater.com, the premier blog post scheduling service.
Needless to say, we proudly use the PostLater service to publish the posts on this blog.
Can’t tell that this post wasn’t entered and published by manually logging into Tumblr?
That’s the entire philosophy behind PostLater. We work silently in the background, publishing your posts on your blogs at the dates and times of your choosing, without leaving a mark on your blog.
In other words, your readers won’t know the difference between a post that you manually published, and one that you scheduled via our service.
Join today, and start enjoying the convenience of schedling posts to all your blogs from one centralized place.
